At the beginning of 2006, I made a New Years Resolution. I had never made a proper resolution before, at least one that I would actually stick to, due to a combination of poor discipline and utter lazyness. However, last year, for the first time ever in my entire life, I made a real resolution that has changed my life for the better.
I remember where I was when I conceived of this resolution - I was in Tel Aviv, staying in Momo's Hostel, arguably the crummiest hostel in the entire world. A place where aging, thinned out freaks watched me with a mixture of suspicion and lewdness while i played pool; where constant rain affected the material stability of the room which i was chilling, resulting in the roof collapsing just to the left of my head.
This was a resolution forged in fire, a glowing red brand etching itself into my consciousness, its purpose set deep and inextricable within me.
I even wrote it down on the yellow pad sponsored by WUJS.
